I started painting and drawing in 1994, quite spontaneously when I was in a mega-crisis in my life. I have always been very creative and productive from a very young age. In 1997, I decided to quit my job as a Social Worker and started at the Art Academy in Holbæk, where I was taught by Rüdiger Mövens. Here a whole new, fantastic, and wonderful world opened up. A huge playground with teaching color theory, plasticization, croquis, various painting techniques, drawing, and much more… a Slaraffenland.
Painting is for me a process where I have to make room for the creativity within me. Sometimes it’s easy, colors, shapes, and shadows just fall into place on the canvas, without much effort. Other times, it’s as hard as a birth … a big pain, but in either case, I never know what I’ll bring into the world.
